Ultrasound-Controlled Punctures

Monitored by ultrasound, and after local anesthesia has been applied, tissue samples can be taken, using a thin needle, from a wide range of organs in the abdomen and thoracic cavity for fine-tissue analysis (fine-needle puncture guided by ultrasound). In most cases this involves targeted puncturing of the liver. Before this examination a pre-examination discussion is held with the doctor.
